Banana Joe is a friendly and good-natured banana merchant who lives friendly with the natives of a small Caribbean island, in Amantido, a town on the banks of a river that crosses one of the numerous republics of South America and that has somehow become escaped until now from civilization. But one unfortunate day for Joe, the mafia boss of San Cristóbal, capital of the Republic, decides to take over the banana business in the entire area. Joe has not bothered to have documents or a license to trade, so he is forced to go to San Cristóbal to obtain them and regulate his situation. To achieve this, he finds himself involved in several difficult situations, such as going to a military camp, and before he knows it he leaves there with his uniform on.
